Phase - II Construction of School Building

Shri Balvant Rao Ghate Prashala; a secondary school was started in 1989 in village Yavli in the district of Solapur. The school has classes from 5^th to 10^th standard and has more than 250 students studying in the school. The school though received government grant soon, barely had basic amenities and educational facilities. Prabhakar Foundation adopted the school in 2009 with a mission to transform the school into a model school.

Foundation was able to carry out substantial work in the school Some of the facilities provided during these years included school building, toilets, amenity centre, playground, laboratory, RO water filter plant etc.

Prabhakar Foundation is now undertaking the second phase of construction of the school building. Part of the building covered in the first phase was differed for the want of resources.

It is now proposed to complete this unfinished work to make the school building self-sufficient. The work includes:

1. Completion of parapet wall

2. Completion of veranda for common entry to the classes

3. Common ramp for entry of disabled children

4. Dome cover for the main porch to create space for common activities

It is proposed to employ independent agency for carrying out engineering and supervision of the construction. Prabhakar Foundation will monitor the procurement of material, cost control and timely implementation. Total time required for the project is estimated to be about Rs. 11 lakh.

Prabhakar Foundation will contribute Rs. 1.5 lakh for the project and the balance of the funds are proposed to be raised through CSR or from well-wishers.
